Things you need to see and do in Porto San Paolo
Trips to the island of Tavolara, diving, excursions in the countryside: things you need to see and do in Porto San Paolo in North Sardinia !
Porto San Paolo offers a lot of activities: snorkeling, diving, boat trips, excursions in the countryside.
There are snorkeling and diving excursions to explore the underwater world of the protected marine park Tavolara, Cala Ciccala, secca del papa and the “rellito dell’Omega”. If you love adventures you can go climbing on the Tavolara Island. The hiking path is surrounded by cork oaks and juniper trees and leads you to Punta Cannone, the top of the island which is 600 mt. high with a breathtaking view over the sea. There are 3 different possibilities to reach the protected marine park of Tavolara: the ferry boat to the island which leaves every 30 minutes, a boat trip to the piscine di Molara and to the beach of Porto Taverna with a break on the beach of the Tavolara island or the rubber boat hire to explore the park by yourself.
We suggest you also a nice riding excursion on the beach or in the countryside by sunrise or sunset, guided mountain bike tours or a walk along the path “Romeo e Giulietta di Paulesa”. The trail starts in Trudda and leads you to the hundred year old oak tree of Paulesa, witness of the love story between two teenagers whose families were enemies like in the famous drama of Shakespeare.
There are 2 famous events in Porto San Paolo: the summer festival with concerts, art markets, workshops, excursions, competitions starting in June and ending in October and the famous Italian film festival “one night in Italy” which takes places in July on the island of Tavolara.
